There Three Main Levels Of Car InsuranceIs understanding the various levels of car insurance important to you? Do they really affect your premium price? If you are a new driver or your car really is not worth much then perhaps it you would be better off with Third Party Fire and Theft or just Third Party Only. The decision is much easier after you have a basic understanding of what each category actually means. Then you could save £’s £’s £’s on your next policy.1. Third Party Only (TPO)
A Third Party is a person/s who are involved as part of a claim and who is not the policyholder or the insurance company. Third Party Only Insurance is the lowest legal requirement for car insurance. Third Part Only insurance can sometimes be the cheapest quoted price but is increasingly becoming harder to find as more insurers and brokers no longer offer this. Many now start with TPF&T. Third party only is likely to only prove attractive to new drivers with zero no claims bonus as most insurers offer sufficient discount on renewal quotes if you stay with them and go from zero to one years no claims. Third Party Only Covers liability to third parties i.e. claims made by third parties, against you, for bodily injury or damage to their property. Each insurer has a specified level of cover for each level of cover they sell and you should always enquire about the level of cover independently each time you get a quote. 2. Third Party Fire & Theft (TPF&T) Third Party Fire & Theft covers you if other people make a claim against you for injury or damage to their car or property, and if your car is stolen by criminals or damaged by fire. Each insurer has a specified level of cover for each level of cover they sell and you should always enquire about the level of cover independently each time you get a quote. 3. Comprehensive Insurance Comprehensive insurance is very affordable now days and naturally the best option for you to go for. Comprehensive insurance is not always more expensive if you are an experienced driver. Anyone with 2 or more no claims bonus could find a more competitive quote through some of the internet’s finest brokers that may well be cheaper than a direct insurers TPF&T policy. Comprehensive insurance covers you if other people make a claim against you for injury or damage to their car or property, and if your car is stolen by criminals or damaged by fire. Additionally you will be covered for accidental damage cover to your car plus cover for your personal belongings, medical expenses and personal accident cover. These are always subject to selected levels of cover you will have agreed with your insurance company and levels of cover may vary according to the individual insurers terms and conditions! You should always enquire about the level of cover independently each time you get a quote. There are more topics I will try to provide you with more
